Please review the following guidelines before submitting your manuscript to TruLife Books. These guidelines help us evaluate your work quickly and professionally.

1. General Requirements

We accept manuscripts that are:

  • Complete, proofread, and ready for editorial review
  • Original works created by the submitting author
  • Not currently under legal dispute or exclusive contract
  • Written in English (unless otherwise arranged)

We consider both fiction and nonfiction, including but not limited to:

  • Literary & contemporary fiction
  • Romance
  • Thriller, mystery & suspense
  • Historical fiction
  • Fantasy & science fiction
  • Children’s books
  • Business, self-help & personal development
  • Health & wellness
  • Memoir with strong commercial appeal

If your genre is not listed, you may still submit.

2. Manuscript Formatting

Please submit your manuscript using the following format:

  • File type: DOCX, PDF, or Google Docs link
  • Font: 12-point, such as Times New Roman, Garamond, or a clean sans serif
  • Spacing: Double-spaced, 1" margins, left-aligned
  • Pages numbered throughout
  • Include a title page with:
    • Book title
    • Author name (and pen name, if applicable)
    • Total word count
    • Email address and phone number
    • Genre and subgenre

For children’s books, please include illustrations (if available) or a storyboard. If illustrations are not yet complete, provide sample art direction or description.

3. What to Include in Your Submission

  1. Your Manuscript – complete and ready for review.
  2. Short Book Synopsis – 150–300 words summarizing the story or topic.
  3. Author Bio – 80–120 words introducing you, your background, and relevant credentials.
  4. Target Audience – describe who the book is intended for (e.g., readers of WWII fiction, parents of young children, entrepreneurs, etc.).
  5. Comparable Titles (optional but helpful) – list 2–4 books similar in theme, style, or audience.
  6. Marketing Information (if available) – any relevant details such as:
    • Author website or social media links
    • Mailing list size or readership
    • Previous publications
    • Awards, endorsements, or media appearances

5. Review Process

  1. Initial Review (3–7 business days) – we review your materials for quality, marketability, and fit.
  2. Editorial Evaluation – qualifying manuscripts may receive an internal editorial analysis.
  3. Decision & Next Steps – you will receive an email with:
    • Acceptance and available publishing or service options, or
    • Requests for additional materials, or
    • Recommendations for revisions, if necessary

6. Fees & Services

TruLife Books offers both traditional-style evaluation and a range of professional book services, including:

  • Manuscript editing and proofreading
  • Cover design (print and ebook)
  • Interior formatting and layout
  • Professional book reviews and editorial evaluations
  • Marketing and promotion services
  • Author website development
  • Print-on-demand bookstore listing (starting at $25/book)

7. Rights & Legal

By submitting your manuscript, you confirm that:

  • You are the rightful owner of the work and hold the necessary rights.
  • The content does not infringe on any existing copyrights or trademarks.
  • All third-party material (quotes, images, lyrics, etc.) is properly credited and licensed.
  • No material is plagiarized or unlawfully copied.
  • Any AI-assisted content is clearly disclosed to us at the time of submission.

8. What We Do Not Accept

  • Hate speech or discriminatory content
  • Explicitly pornographic material
  • Plagiarized or copyright-infringing work
  • Unfinished drafts (unless submitted for a paid assessment service)
  • Books generated primarily by AI without meaningful human authorship

9. Tips for a Strong Submission

  • Have your manuscript proofread before sending it in.
  • Provide a clear, compelling synopsis.
  • Use professional formatting standards.
  • Clearly identify your target audience.
  • Include comparable titles where possible.
  • Be honest about your marketing reach and platform.
